G.O.D. (住好啲, meaning 'to live better') is a quintessentially Hong Kong heritage design and lifestyle brand, founded in 1996 by designer Douglas Young. Growing from a small boutique in Ap Lei Chau, G.O.D. has become an iconic, multi-faceted international retailer that presents Hong Kong to global audiences through premium products inspired by the city's unique history and culture. The brand name phonetically resembles 'G.O.D.' in Cantonese, encapsulating the spirit of living better. Designs are drawn from Hong Kong's vibrant culture, where east meets west and age-old traditions meet cutting-edge technology. With humour and creativity, everyday subjects are transformed into extraordinary objects. G.O.D.'s mission is to preserve and showcase Hong Kong's unique heritage through design and community initiatives, advocating for cultural enterprise. Founder Douglas Young was named in Debrett's Hong Kong 100 in art, architecture and design (2015) and holds honorary doctorates from SCAD (2017) and Sheffield University (2020).
