About Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum

Tim Ho Wan (添好運) is a globally acclaimed dim sum restaurant founded in Hong Kong in 2009 by former Four Seasons chef Mak Kwai Pui, which famously became the world most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant. The concept was a small, unpretentious dim sum shop focused on delivering exceptional quality handmade dim sum at everyday prices, a philosophy that resonated deeply with Hong Kong food-loving public and soon attracted international attention. The restaurant signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns (char siu bao) are considered among the best in the world, with their crispy, lightly sweet pastry shell and succulent barbecued pork filling, regularly drawing long queues of devoted fans. Other celebrated dishes include the steamed egg cake, vermicelli roll with pig liver, and steamed egg white with milk. Tim Ho Wan has since expanded to locations across Hong Kong including Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po, North Point, and internationally across Asia, Australia, and the United States, bringing its award-winning dim sum to a global audience. Each location maintains the founder original commitment to quality and craftsmanship that earned the brand its legendary Michelin recognition and worldwide reputation.
